Week 5 Results

This goes out to all my Lions and Steelers fans.

Take back your Sundays.

Sometimes it’s better to distance yourself to let that person or thing grow. I think now is that time. We’ll always support them, but we need to let them find themselves first. Good luck fellas, I’ll be rooting for ya (but from waaaaaaaay over here).

Now, on the theme of growth, have we seen what’s happening in the B1G? FIVE teams in the Top 11, and that highest ranked team will surprise you! It’s…Iowa?? That’s right, Iowa is ranked #3 in the country followed closely by Ohio State at #7, Michigan at #9, and MSU at #11. All five of these schools are really showing their improvements from the start of the year.

Also, GVSU is now ranked #6 in the country so add another powerhouse to the list.

Football is BACK in the Midwest folks! Is it 2002? It might be because….

·         Michigan State has an incredible athlete wearing #1

·         Michigan will literally only run the ball

·         Ohio State is improving, but not #1 in the conference

·         Penn State is a force with a charismatic head coach (except the White Out ™™ wasn’t around yet)

We are rejecting modernity and embracing tradition this year. Taking a page from Michigan’s playbook they’ve used since the dawn of the gas-powered automobile (those were the days eh Benj?).

NFL TIME

The Browns are the singular lifeboat in this maelstrom of a season. All the other teams are wearing cement shoes and are sinking faster and faster as the weeks go by. At least the NBA starts soon, and the Pistons will be fun to watch for the first time in a decade. See ya later Lions, it’s DETROIT BASKETBALL time.

Also, please enjoy Myles Garrett hurting Kirk Cousins.

What am I, if not a generous Commissioner?

The questions this week were a bit easier, as I thought we could all use a good week! And hey, it worked (except for Kevin and Sully). This weeks winner, with the best W/L of the season so far is:

Benjamin

He said he needed a big week after what he’s been through, and he got one! Benj finished 7-2-1 and won $0.61! Is this a signal of more things to come? Like Michigan, we’ll really find out in November.

In 2nd is Matthew! Another good week for your commissioner. I won $0.29 and am locked in.

In 3rd is Jonny! He won $0.23. Wondering if he did this good on the golf course too? If so, I’m impressed.

In 4th is Nick! He won $0.17 and looks to have reached his correct answer ceiling. It can only be 5.

In 5th is Kait! I am very impressed that she still won $0.13 while getting 7 answers wrong. Nice hedging.

In 6th is Christopher! He broke even perfectly! Literally $0.00. Now that’s what I call a wash. Maybe more impressive than Kait’s week tbh.

In 7th is Kevin! The only player to participate this week to lose money. He lost $0.18, but will just tell you that he was too distracted buying a Submariner to pay attention this week.

In Last Place (and in the doghouse) is Sully! SHAME Sully, SHAME. He forgot to place his bets this week. It was his birthday though. So, happy birthday Sully, here’s -$0.50.

Week 6 has a LOT going on! Best of luck to Nick and Erica with their wedding shower this weekend! Wish I could be there. But the fam is going to Columbus to also celebrate Jonathan a year late for his graduation. Gonna be some great pics, but only the bad ones will be posted by our mother (as is tradition).
