Sep 5 Week 1 Results

Can’t really have a bad week when you get to watch Clemson get embarrassed on national tv. But, Alabama also looks insane AGAIN, and it’s just not fair. I need Nick Saban to quit it. Overall, it was still a great start to the season.

Ohio State looks good, and if Kerry Coombs can learn from his mistakes last year, the Buckeyes should be in a really good spot to not allow 300+ passing yards a game this time around. Sevyn Banks and Cam Brown can’t come back soon enough. Also Treveyon Henderson has a jetpack strapped to his back. My lord he’s fast.

Michigan State decided they wanted to play bully ball for the first time since 2015 and man did it give me ptsd. Kenneth Walker III beat up a bunch of goth nerds like an 80’s comedy. I almost felt bad for em, but remembered they’re Northwestern. I think all those accountants, and venture capitalists will be ok. Maybe invest in a defense though.

U of M took the Broncos to a glue factory. It was sad. Poor Kaleb Eleby.

Central put up an extremely frustrating fight against Mizzou, so they’re already in mid-season form.

Penn State! At least the ending was entertaining! Good job Kait.

In other news, we added a new member to the league! As we all know, Nick joined over the weekend. A little background on Nick:

He and I have been friends since kindergarten
He graduated from CMU so now Christopher is outnumbered
Nick betrayed me by switching allegiances from Ohio State to MSU and I will never forgive him
Jonathan, Sully and he will not get along because he is a Chelsea fan
His MLB team has actually won a world series recently 😡
He and his fiancée are going to Hawaii soon
Nick can actually talk hockey with Kait but fuck the Penguins

On to the results!

So everyone did pretty well! Thanks to the Big Huge, no one lost money! Christopher and Nick tried their hardest though. Nick didn’t get a single question correct, so he’ll fit right in here.

Your first winner of Season 5 is:

Kevin

Has Kevin turned over a new leaf? This is his best start to a season ever! He won $1.18. Picking up from his hot end to last season, I think Kevin could be a darkhorse this year.

In 2nd is Jonny! He won $1.14! He was also the only person to post an above .500 record this week, going 6-4. Will it ever end.

In 3rd is yours truly! I won $0.92. My success this weekend felt tenuous, kind of like OSU’s secondary.

In 4th is Sully! He won $0.88. I’m impressed he was able to do so well on a weekend where he went to a music festival. Our guy is multi-faceted.

In 5th is Kait! She won $0.85. Everything is going swimmingly in Happy Valley. Maybe James Franklin is good?

In 6th is Nick! He won $0.44. At least he got the question that mattered right!

In 7th is Benj! He won $0.27 and is flying high after seeing a Michigan QB actually do QB things. Well done.

And finally, in last is Christopher! He won $0.13, but put too much blind faith into his Broncos. We should’ve known they wouldn’t be very feisty since their new rebrand looks like its actively depressed.

Next week is gonna be crazy! Ohio State has Oregon! U of M has a horrible Washington team! MSU plays the Jim Tressel Penguins! Penn State plays Ball State? CMU gets Robert Morris? And Western plays Illinois State? Ok so at least one of these games will be good. Hopefully.
